When I first read the question, my initial thought was “I own the e-portfolio - duh." I did not think about how the audience could perceive who owns the e-portfolio, but after reading the readings for the week, I realized that I am only partially the owner of my e-portfolio. I am using COVA in my e-portfolio, so therefore I do have some type of ownership. I get to have the freedom to decide how to organize, structure, and present my experiences and evidence of learning. I am able to express my unique perspective and personal insights in the content I include. I provide genuine material that reflects real learning opportunities and meaningful experiences, such as my Innovation Plan. However, I consider my ownership to be partial because my e-portfolio is designed not only to reflect my professional identity but also to be tailored to appeal to potential employers. While it authentically represents my qualifications, it is also strategically crafted to enhance my chances of securing the job I wish to secure in the future. I am ensuring that I am giving my future employers what they wish to see in my e-portfolio. Therefore, I believe that the audience and I own my e-portfolio.
